Well worth its weight in gold!

If your computer desk is anything like mine, it probobly looks like a kitchen after ThanksGiving dinner. As an avid gamer i have stuff everywhere and the thought of adding a new input device for gaming seemed a bit nuts. But if your into PC games this device is a must even if it means having to re-arrange your carefully orchestrated chaos that is your desktop. When i saw this speedpad in an article in PC Gamer I thought that it was a great idea and had to give it a try. But then when i looked at the price ($25.00!!) I ran out and bought one. I have had this device for close to a year now with absolutely no problems and it has brought me many a smiles as i Frag with the greatest of ease!The software included with this is very easy to install with no "extra" unneeded junk programs. The speedpad made up of
10 keys,a scrolling wheel and an 8-way directional pad. You can save of to 4 individual profiles using the Profile Manager software. The interface for the profile manager couldn't be more simple to use. Just select which profile you would like to edit (nuetral,red,green or blue), click which key or directional button you would like to edit and hit the corresponding key or keystroke on your keyboard you would like to assign. Its that simple. The scrolling wheel can also be used as a throttle for flying sims. Having up to 4 profiles which can be changed with a flick of the thumb creates so many advantages for most of the first person shooters on the market today. Take for instance Battlefield 1942. You could use the "red" profile for infantry, as soon as you hop in a plane, switch the profile to "green" and theres all of your flying commands at your fingertips instantly! I can't say I have had any problems with the software or the actual device itself. The unit is very sturdy and made out of a nice thick plastic, and it comes with an ample amount of cord for the USB input. The unit at first feels like it could slide around a bit on the desktop considering the rubber grippies on the bottom are pretty small but i soon learned the weight of my hand was enough to keep it from straying. For $25.00 i couldn't ask for anything more out of this device. Nostromo has outdone themselves with this one and i am sure that i will have many more years using this awesome and innovative product.
