Author's Review
Reiman Publications was founded in 1964 and publishes nine beautiful, country-oriented magazines --- all without advertising! Wholesome glimpses of rural America reduce your stress levels and deserve the quiet comfort of a window box, a cup of hot chocolate, and a warm gentle breeze.
Whether man or woman; gardener or bird fancier, you will love this magazine! Flowers, bird houses, Hummingbirds, butterflies, utility bench patterns, trees, shrubs, recipes, plants, walking paths, close up pictures of birds --- it's all here!
I gave my brother Dick a subscription last year and he loves it too! Dick is always looking for new bird house ideas and "Birds and Blooms" always features unique pictures of birdhouses. Many of the pictures are sent in by the viewers, but understand that this magazine is a visual feast for the eyes! Gorgeous color photos and practical how-to's on attracting birds and creating gorgeous flower gardens are in every issue.
Find the Acorn
Hidden in each edition is a small acorn. If you find it, you win a prize! Notice I say "you" --- I have never found the acorn! So sad!
Collector's Edition
Reimans recently sent me a copy of the Collector's Edition to "woo" me back to the fold. I admit it; I let my subscription lapse last year. I really love this magazine, but who has time? As it is, I skim most magazines.
Reiman Publications is located in Greendale Wisconsin and has a Country Store Outlet and a peak at their test kitchen for visitors. They have a fine reputation as an employer and people love their magazines and tours. Yes, I said tours! WorldWide Country Tours offer foreign and domestic tours with unique country twists. I have a friend and her mom that take annual trips with them and tout their praises!
The Pileated Woodpecker
What a beautiful picture of this king of woodpeckers! I saw a Pileated woodpecker one January morning at my log house in the woods! It was beautiful! It was gigantic! I woke my hubby up from a sound sleep to come and see the giant with wings!
Beauty in Your Own Backyard
Each issue "common folk" gardeners have their work featured with pictures, maps and diagrams. What an honor to have your compact formal flower garden shown within these pages! Local gardening experts Melinda Myers and George Harrison answer your birding and gardening questions.
Just Dew It!
Beautiful close-ups of dew drops in the morning reflecting nearby flowers of periwinkle blue, buttercup yellow and crimson red dazzle the viewer's eyes. I am telling you --- the pictures are fabulous!
Questions Across the Fence
One of my favorite features gives you the chance to have your backyard questions answered by other readers. What fun! Writer's names and addresses are included.
