Author's Review

I'm a first year acupuncture student and I am currently taking my first Acupuncture Points class (where you learn where the points are, no needles yet!)

This book was on the supplementary reading list so I did not buy it at first. I only referred to the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion book. However it was referred to heavily in class and seems to be the bible of acupuncture points. I later learned it wasn't required because it was more expensive than the other books.

I happened to buy this book at a book sale and I'm very glad that I did.

The book is very big and bulky. It has 675 pages. It reminds of the Physician Desk Reference books that are painful to carry. It's highly worth the pain.

The book is sectioned by specific channels. The introductory chapter is very helpful because it charts all the point categories and explains measurements very, very well.

The sections on the channels are also very detailed. Each point is described and a very clear picture is shown locating the point. there's also a note on the bottom giving helpful hints to locate the points. That's what I love so much about this book because it can be so hard to find a point based on a translated description. The functions of each point are very detailed too. About a page or a page and a half.

Aside from the weight of the book, I have nothing negative to say about this book. It really is the bible of acupuncture points. I highly recommend this book to acupuncture students.
