Real Woman Book!
Date of Review: Jun 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: Read and enjoy and maybe plan a trip for yourself!
I truly enjoyed this book because it is written about a real woman's journey. The indecision of divorce and feeling lost about her purpose are just two of the struggles that make this book relate to so many readers.
The decision to visit new places just because the all start with the letter "i", lets you know that this is going to be a fun book. The journey to find one's true self doesn't always have to be so serious and this book shows us that. How many of us would love to just take off and travel the world? And shows us that a single woman can do whatever she likes on her own.
I found such humor in the honesty of the writer's constant questioning of herself [don't we all?] that it was entertaining on a different level of most books I read.
I loved the dividing of her different journeys. That is exactly as life is sometimes and it makes it easier to find the lessons learned from each experience. I found myself looking at my own life from a different perspective after reading this one.
I was surprised that in such a short amount of time, I could actually sense the writer's moods in the various senarios in Italy and she brought such humor to places where only devout whispers should be heard in India.
It was a delightful ride in these modern times and I thoroughly enjoyed the time I was there with her!
