Maniac Magee is one of the best childrens books I have read in a long time. My son had to do a poster board book report and he chose this book to do it on. I have never read any of the other titles by this author but if I see one in a store I will definatly buy it. I had to help my son do his report so I took the book to work with me to read during my breaks and lunches. He would read it after school when I got home.
Neither him nor I could put the book down. It got to where he wanted to
take it to school and I wanted to read it after work.

The story is terrific and the manner in which it was written keeps you hooked. It touches real life situations. It also points out that everyone is the same regaurdless of color or wealth. A wonderful book everyone should read. Even the adults could get something out of it.
