Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

This book takes place during the Depression. It is about a black family in
Mississippi. The family members are Big Ma, Mamma, Pappa, Stacey,(the oldest brother) Cassie, ( the only girl in the family) Christopher John, and Little Man ( also known as Clayton Chester ). The children are learning about prejudice and not everything the whites have the blacks don't. Stacey tries to act like the man of the house because his father is gone to work on the rail road. Cassie has a big mouth and speaks when ever she wants to. Christopher John is the quite one trying to stay out of trouble. Little Man is always trying to be clean. The father one day brings a man named Mr. Morrison to help take care of the family while he is out on the rail road. Read the book and tell me what you think......
