Death, Love, Swords, and Lust!

This classic tale of Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and, of course, d'Artagnan, has been the best "cloak and dagger" novel since 1844. With sword fights, long chases, beautiful women, lust, love and a few deaths this novel packs more fight and pizzazz than any of its kind.

One of the things that makes The Three Musketeers stand out from its peers is how well Dumas lays the intrigue and actions of the royal courts. Though closer to the days of Louise XIII than we are he obviously did his research in the customs and ways of the musketeers and couriers.

If you have seen the movies spawned by this glorious book you have only a taste of the true magnificence that Dumas has to offer. The adrenaline will run through your veins as d'Aragnan rushes about trying to gain the title of Musketeer.
