I had to read the Westing Game for school over the summer. I put it off until July, then got to my feet and read it. When I was filling out the dittos that came with it, I had so much to say that I needed another page! The cover isn't too appealing when you're randomly scanning the library shelves for a book, but when you start reading it, you almost can't stop(I say almost because it's not like the book possesses you or anything...haha)! I even read again right before school started I just needed somemore of that action. This is one supercalifragilisticexpialidocius thriller-mystery!
Samuel W. Westing, the owner of Westing Paper Products, has recently deceased(or so it says in his will!). In his will, he states his life was taken by one of the selected heirs in the room at the reading of the will! His will is actually a type of a game. He pairs up all the players, and says that together, they must find the the heir who has taken his life. There are tricks and unexpected turns in his will, which are part of all the fun.
Each pair recieves a set of clues, and with that, gossip and rumors they have collected, and what they know, they must find the answer. The heirs in their pairs go through a series of surprising events, each with it's own little twist.
This book is amazing! You gotta read it to find out what happens at the end! Believe me, it's not what you expected.
Ellen Raskin, the author, did an amazing job on his puzzle-mystery. She puts in hints that you wouldn't expect were there to clue you in. As I read it over, I found all those little clues in a snap because I knew the conclusion! BUY THIS BOOK! I hope you can see why this is a great book because I read it twice a year ago and I'm still raving!!!!
