Mixed emotions about the Bosch Evolution 500

The Bosch Evolution 500 seems, in general to be a good product. Appearance, interior layout and features are quite good. In particular the temperature controlled bottom drawer is quite useful. The interior lay out is handy and well thought out.

The only and major problem is the ice maker. It is woefully inadequate both in production and in operation. Over a twenty four hour period, the ice production is only 26 oz.average, less than two quarts. The dispenser controls are a bit difficult. The sensor pad requires a high degree of pressure to activate, therefore only a rigid glass will work. There are only two people in the home, but the ice maker is still always empty. If ice is at all important to you, I would advise that you not purchase this refrigerator.

I contacted both Bosch and the dealer I purchased from and neither seemed eager to rectify the problem.
