SHV45M03UC DO NOT BUY IT

So far I HATE this dishwasher and will probably be returning it. The quiet factor is great; as for dishwashing effectiveness I haven't used it enough yet to judge BUT THE DISHWASHER RACK IS BASICALLY NONFUNCTIONAL. Good luck loading it up with dishes. If you are used to a dishwasher that firmly holds drinking glasses and cereal size bowls firmly in place and keeps them from crashing into one another - you may HATE this thing as I do.

There are 2 rows for drinking glasses. Tall skinnier drinking glasses fit only in one row. Well, you can put them in the other row, but it's a two hand operation: you have to use one hand to pry open prongs and continue to hold them open while attempting to pry the glass into the tight space with your 2nd hand. BEST PART of all is there is no way to secure glasses firmly in the rack. They fall over onto one another unles you v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y and s-l-o-w-l-y slide the rack in and out. Tonite I loaded about 5 drinking glasses into it - the tall skinny ones. One of them tipped and fell over twice. Nice.

Bowls are a problem also. Cereal bowls are not separated - they clunk against one another. I tried to solve this problem by placing the bowls two and three prongs apart (wastes space) - doing this WORSENS the situation - no matter how I load this thing bowls crash up against another, unless you want to space them a ridiculous amount of space apart.

Then there's the utensil basket. It is a TRIP. There are different size slots and you must memorize which size slot fits which utensil i.e. forks fit into slot size 1 and 3 and 7, spoons into 2, 5 & 6; knives only in 4. The instruction manual actually has a diagram of the different size slots=forks, b-spoons, etc.

I had a Kenmore dishwasher before. Everything fit snuggly and firmly into the rack with little wasted space and were separated from one another that prevents things from crashing into each other. Drinking glasses did NOT tip over. You could slam the door shut and everything was held in place safely and securely and separate from each other.

I AM SO AGGRAVATED. I do not want to have to deal with this aggravation every day. My advice is, DO NOT BUY THIS. At least not unless you take your dishes to the store and try them in the dishwasher first to make sure you're happy with the configuration of the racks. That apparently is the thing we should be doing when buying a dishwasher. Take 5 drinking glasses of different sizes and a couple of plates with you, dinner plates and smaller, and cereal bowls, too. Load them into any dishwasher you're thinking of buying to see how the rack functions. You'd think this would be unnecessary. that whoever designed this thing would be able to come up with something FUNCTIONAL.
