Clear sound and excellent clarity.

The Bottom Line: Bose quality in construction and sound reproduction. Have additional speakers in mind if you want home theater though.
I've owned my AM5's for over 10 years and they still kick. From low to ear-bleeding volume they still sound great; and, are easily hidden. Hide the mid-woofer, mount the drivers on the wall, and enjoy an uncluttered house with awesome sound.
Be careful with the hinged cubes. Drop them and break the hinge and you are destined to tape or glue them solid - which isn't bad, but you won't be able to mount them on the wall.
Read the provided instructions. Bose puts a lot of research into their speakers before production. The AM bass module does through out bass, but it sounds better in a corner 2-3 inches from a wall to enhance what you hear. My system is augmented with an Infinity subwoofer (which beat out Velodyne and Cerwin Vega in the demo) and I love it.
Since my AM5 module was damaged from water I get to upgrade. Though I chose the AM6 II I didn't like that the cubes were singles rather than the doubles I'm used to. I'll substitute my old cubes. :-)
Happy Listening!
