The Day Staind Sold Out
Date of Review: Jun 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: I hope they realize that they need to go back to their metal roots and stop making hits for Mtv.
Staind two years ago came bursting onto the music scene like a force of swarming bees. Hungry and craving more and more. Their cd "Dysfuction" was great. I bought it for 7 dollars and cherished it. When "Break The Cycle" came out, I rushed to buy it. This cd is for radio. For some people that doesn't mean anything. Mellow songs are what made me keep from sending this one to the used cd shop. The songs are catchy, while the more hard rock driven ones seem to drone on until you smack the forward track in disgust. Even after a few listens I just couldn't stand it. I know Arron Lewis is expressing his feelings, but who wants to listen to music about someone's murky past. He could atleast make the sad songs heavy like KoRn used to master. I hope no one enjoys rocking out to someone's cry for help like he does some many times on this album. This might be a good cd to burn from a friend, hard earn cash used to by this cd is wasting your time. But if you did enjoy this cd I highly recommend picking up a cd by the group "Black Label Society". It's very much like this whole album.
