Beer Replaced By JUICER????
Pros:
Fairly easy to use. GREAT taste AND filling. EASY to clean.
Cons:
Wish it had a slow speed for leafy stuff. Produce Blows back up loading chute!
The Bottom Line:
If you quit juicing years ago try again! You may end up not wanting your BEER anymore? Pick a brand with a GOOD WARRANTY and who offers replacement parts!

Author's Review
OK, there are a million pro juicers here who can tell you all the reasons this type of juicer is best, another million who can tell you why a SLOW juicer like the Champion Brand are best if you want leafy greens juiced. My only experience until this week was with an OLD 15 year old juicer we paid about $70.00 for that took about a grocery CART full of fruits & veggies just to get a 12 oz. glass 1/2 full!
As a result, we used it one time and set it out in the garage until I finally sold it for $20.00 last month. But I saw a Jack La Lane infomercial and came to trusty old Amazon.com to see about trying again since these NEW juicers get more juice (or DO they?). I start reading and see so many more people liking this particular brand over Jacks model so then go to YouTube sniffing around. I take A MONTH DECIDING and bought this juicer from Amazon directly. Used it for just 2 days so I have no way to tell you about how it is best or worse, how it is changing my life, or anything earth shattering.
But I DO have something I CAN tell you. I don't even want a beer anymore. And I like beer. A LOT!!!! I haven't even tried any of the GREAT selection of included recipes that came included with the juicer. I just tossed in about 4 carrots, 1 small pear, 2 pieces of celery, 2 small red apples and it made over 16 ounces of juice! Blows my old mind (short trip). The weirdest thing of all to me at 60 years of age is I HATE carrots. HATE them. ANY form, hate them. Now, I can't get enough. And even weirder, I wasn't able to even eat any breakfast as I was too full. I don't remember anyone saying juice would fill me up. Usually if I had a V8 it just made me want a beer to go WITH it.
So all the expert juicers can decide which brand is best, which style is best. For my recreational use and for my being able to EASILY take it apart and fully clean in 10 minutes (and I am disabled, no, NOT from the beer!), I do a very rare thing. I give this a 5 star rating. As my experience with it grows, I will update this review as required as to reliability, stamina etc. My last and only prior juicer was such a nightmare to clean AND use, got NO juice, it makes this nothing less than shocking. To have so much juice, so much GREAT flavor, almost fun to operate and clean, who knows.....I may just end up skinny & healthy. But then after today's tomato. celery & zucchini with onion experiment, I can see myself wondering what a little Vodka might do for a little added flavor? Probably lucky for me that the only alcohol I ever liked was beer......
If I get into this in a big way and discover I like leafy green stuff juiced, and find this will NOT do that well, I will find someway to go the BIG bucks for a slow turning juicer that does that type juicing best. Heck, maybe I can recycle all my old beer cans to pay for it? Can't believe it took me 60 years to find a HEALTHY way to get juiced.
More details that may help are:
The motor sounds like a very quiet hair dryer (on LOW) type sound. Can still hear the wife calling me names EASILY over the sound of it! More power than I can use so far and we have now pushed about everything possible through it! The slower you push items through, the more actual juice you get though. Foot print is tiny but TALL if that is any problem? Only 8 inches in diameter at base, expands as it rises to the area pulp is extracted to only 8 1/2 inches.
Cleanup? Too easy, WAY too easy. SO easy the wife makes ME do it! IS dishwasher safe but so easy to clean in the sink, less than 5 minutes so never bother wasting all that energy after juicing. SO simple to just rinse and go. There are cleaning videos on YouTube for this model as well. This juicer comes with an INCLUDED cleaning brush on one end, a micro spatula on the opposite end. The cleaning brush is for cleaning the fine mesh basket, the spatula at the other end is an EXACT FIT to the crevices in the pulp container. Such a simply yet BRILLIANT idea. Much like the juicer itself. Just so well thought out BEFORE you end up standing there asking yourself what you got yourself into!
I love this so much I am considering a masticating juicer just for greens, possibly the Omega 8003. But first I want to give this more of a change as so far, so good and most the stuff this does really well, the Omega does poorly. So for the moment, will stay with just this model.
1/13/2009 UPDATE:
Need to update this and change the rating to 3 stars. After some major use I have found it's inability to effectively juice leafy greens a problem. Worse, the flying pieces of fruit & veggies (no matter HOW careful you are) has cost us more in stained & ruined clothing than the price of this juicer. I also look to the website of the manufacturer to find NO replacement parts available to purchase if needed with only a ONE YEAR warranty?
If Amazon allows me, I am going to return this and buy the NEW masticating Omega Model 8006 juicer (with a 15 year warranty!). I know it takes more time to cut produce into small pieces with it, and I know it takes much longer to use it, but this is NOT a juicer I can use every single day, twice a day with all the different veggies I now like, and deal with the mess as well and lack of juice obtained from certain items. I have learned a valuable lesson here. NEVER write a review until I have spent a serious amount of time with a product, and also, wait until I have tested it in ALL areas of operation. IE, tried using every single item available that you can use with it, not just a few items. If you add anything light & leafy, it simply blows out of the loading chute before you can wrestle it in & down with the tamper. Just a nightmare with pieces BLOWING up and out everywhere. One recourse is to turn the juicer off 1st but what a pain and directions say NOT to.... Then there is amount of juice obtained from greens. MUCH less obtained here than with a masticating juicer.
So even if I am unable to return this juicer, I have actually just ordered a new Omega Model 8006 with a 15 year warranty. After I put every single item available in the market through it, I will then give a review that will be "time tested". I still give this 3 stars for those who just want to use more fruits & carrots etc. But would still choose a different brand with a BETTER WARRANTY and from a manufacturer who offers parts replacement!
January 22, 2009 UPDATE. I returned this juicer and hope for a refund. Please see the review of it's replacement here at Epinions.com. I now am the happy owner of an Omega Model 8006. I would say the differences between the 2 juicers is like apples and oranges but.......I gave this model a final week side by side my new juicer. This is such a VIOLENT machine! Pieces that do not juice well SLAM against the very CHEAP plastic sides and force you to wait to get a major disaster coming in the way of the bowl splitting and in your face. Over & over it just got to the point it was sometime actually frightening to use with loud cracking & breaking sounds. Both my wife and myself ended up being uncomfortable using it or would have considered keeping both. Then we found the food being trapped in a crevice near the spout that is NOT reachable for cleaning and thus posing a potential HEALTH risk? End of the line when we found such a wonderful alternative with the Omega 8006.

3 Month update. Using the Omega Juicer Model 8006, I have now lost 29 pounds! Also lost any craving for beer, just realized I haven't even had a single thought of a beer much less had one. What a shocker. Also now growing my own wheatgrass indoors to juice in my Omega juicer.
