Worth the money!!!

The Bugaboo stroller is a fantastic design!! It looks much more stylish and less bulky than all those other plastic strollers.

What I also like about it is that the infant carry cot is included. Studies in Europe suggest that newborn should sleep in a totally horizontal position, because their spinal curves have not formed yet. In the US you see many very young babies sleep in car seats and strollers that not completely recline. Not when you buy the Bugaboo however. In addition it pushes like a dream and both my babies loved sitting in in. The hood is nice and large and keeps the sun out of their faces. All the fabric is washable but it is a bit of a hassle to remove all the fabric parts and put them back.

Here are the specs:
-weight 16 lbs
-folded dimensions 35"x20"
-Reversible handle bar (meaning you can push you child either facing you or facing away from you)
-Max weight child 44 lbs
-included a rain cover and a mosquito net
- two swivel wheels that can be in the front or the back depending on the direction of the handle bar. The wheel can also be locked on very uneven terrain or when jogging (although this is officially not a jogging stroller!!)
-Other accessories can be purchased such as a parasol and a wheel board to tag along your toddler (keep in mind that these extra purchased don't come cheap, but my guess is that you would be already used to that after purchasing the stroller.



UPDATE three years of use

I have now owned this stroller for more than three years and is is still as good as the day I bought it! A second child came along and I have purchased quite a few twin strollers since. None of them were cheap (Peg Perego, Valco twin jogging stroller, Chariot Cougar), but none of them come close to being as good as the Bugaboo. According to friends of mine in the Netherlands (where the Bugaboo comes from), the Frog model will soon be discontinued but there other models are at least as good if not better. You will be using a stroller for probably at least three years and if you walk quite a bit, a Bugaboo stroller will be worth you investment. In addition if you keep if nice, you will be able to sell it for at least $400 when you don't need it any longer.

Summarizing what great and what's not about the Bugaboo:

Great:
- Very smooth ride
- Great looking design and fantastic color
- Folds very easily
- Light weight
- Holds up great over time
- Can be sold for a very decent price after you don't need it any longer

Not so great:
- Expensive
- Folds in two pieces (the frame and the seat), which some people don't like
- I am 5'10" and the handle bar is just right for me; taller people might find it on the low side, while very short people may find the bar a bit high. The bugaboo could use a handle bar that could be changed in height like e.g. the Quinny and the Mutsy (which are also both strollers from the Netherlands.

All in all a very good stroller. If you purchase it I don't think you will regret it!
