Author's Review
The first time I saw this car at the dealership I thought it was a Jaguar. This is by far the best looking Buick to date (at least in the front). While I was getting my oil changed I decided that I would take this car for a test drive.
The car I test drove was a $33,000 dollar, Black, CXS with a black dash and tan leather interior. The black and tan combination is stunning. It really dresses the interior up. The quality of the leather seats boarders on Jag like. The wood grain has a nice low luster finish which makes it more realistic. I love the tilt/telescope function of the steering wheel, being 6'3 it is difficult to find a comfortable driving position. Compared to a Camry, the interior looks absolutely luxurious. Everything about the interior whispers quality. Not to mention this car is the quietest car I've ever driven. The doors even close with a pleasing solid thump. This is best interior I've seen GM make in years.
The exterior of the car has plenty of Jaguar influences. From the headlights to the chrome door handles, this car is both classy and sexy. The only thing that ruined it for me where the tail lights. At night, they look much better, but during the day they look Taurus like. The body gaps are tight, and the paint was smooth. I could tell this wasn't a typical GM hack job.
With the 3.6 liter V6 this car has plenty of silent power. A 5 speed automatic would be ideal, but the average person would not notice a difference. I currently own a Regal that gets about 25-30 mpg, so I don't expect this car to be any better or any worse.
The only thing holding me back is the price. At 33,000 it seems a little high. But compared to a Jag, this car is cheap! It just depends on how you look at it. If GM produces some more rebates, this car will be a bargain Jag. Once I decide to break with the cash, this will be my next car!
