One game that I found out was on Nintendo DS was Build A Bear Workshop. Several years ago we went to one, so I thought it would be a fun game for my kiddo. I found this game on eBay for $21. It is rated E for everyone but I would suggest this for 10 and under.
You start off the game just like you would the experience at Build a Bear, you pick out an animal- they have several to choose from- dogs, bears, frogs, even a pink poodle. Next, you stuff it, give it a heart, brush it, and sew it up as well as clothe it and give it a name. You can have up to 3 animals in memory.
Next, after you get your pet all suited up, you go to a little house that looks just like the cardboard box you get at the store. In this house, you help your pet brush its teeth, hair, fix meals for it, clean up its room, dress it, and in the attic there are 4 mini games to play- musical chairs, a game where you have to cook meals the fastest, dancing game, or one where you stand with a honey pot and catch honey from the passing bees. Also, you have an outdoor garden where you can teach your animal dance lessons and it can swing on the swing set as well. There is also a photo studio where you can take pictures of your animal in different outfits and save them.
You also have the chance to buy different outfits for your animal, and on special days like Halloween, there will be special outfits that will be unlocked on those days so you want to be sure to play the game on that day.
That's pretty much the whole game, nothing too challenging about it. My oldest plays this every now and then but it doesn't see as much play as other games do. Note I said earlier this would be for the under 10 crowd because older kids would not find this interesting enough. I don't think this is a must have game, but it does get your kid used to using the Nintendo DS and if your kid has ever visited Build A Bear then they can relate to it. But, it's not as interesting as other games out there.
