Nearly "L" quality at a full "L" price

The Bottom Line: High price and lack of L class build prevent this very good lens from being great.
Review: The Canon 17-55 IS lens seems to be a bit of a conundrum. Priced in "L" territory the 17-55 falls short in a few key areas that will leave veteran photogs scratching their heads trying to figure out just what Canon was thinking.

The Bottom Line: Yes if you plan to stick with 1.6X crop bodies from Canon. It's a very reliable sharp lens ...and can give you good results in most situations.

Review: This lens is a nice, sharp piece of glass, but for the price, you can do MUCH better in the Canon line.
