Canon G3 Digital Camera. I must have bought the lemon.

Date of Review:  Jul 5, 2003
The Bottom Line: The moment your G3 starts showing signs of problematic behaviour, return it for a refund as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will have to endure Canon's lack of support.
Review: I purchased the Canon G3 camera after reading the glowing reviews splashed across Web pages thoughout all corners of the Internet.

I have always been a Canon user from the old days of owning a pocket happy-snapper through to my current EOS...

Great engineering. You can take...

Date of Review:  Mar 6, 2003
Review: Great engineering. You can take very high quality pictures with this camera. It offers a lot of features for the price. I have used sevaral SLR cameras and this is my first digital camera. The body, buttons etc seems like it is a cheap disposable...

Excellent Digital Camera

Date of Review:  Sep 22, 2003
The Bottom Line: Excellent 4-5MP camera for those wanting to move beyond 'auto' mode and take more creative control of their digital images.
Review: BACKGROUND
I have been using an entry-level 2MP camera for a couple of years (Finepix 2400). It performs admirably for its category, but decided it was time to go for higher resolution (4-5MP) and more control over exposure parameters. After...

Most feature-rich prosumer digicam in the market

Date of Review:  Dec 1, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a new camera, this should be on top of your list.
Review: I have been using Canon's prosumer Powershot "G" series cameras since G1. A few days ago, I just sold off my G2 when I found out that G3 has arrived at the local stores.

I have nothing against the G2, in fact, I think it is a great camera...

Happiness with the Canon G3

Date of Review:  Dec 17, 2002
The Bottom Line: Loving this camera for its size and ease of use while providing great quality. A step up from point and shoot camera but easy to use compared to digital SLR.
Review: I was going to purchase this camera online after reading all the technical reviews, but I had problems with the company that I selected online. So, I ended up purchasing this at the local camera shop instead.

I'm incredibly pleased with...

Excellent Camera

Date of Review:  Nov 10, 2005
Review: I have had great success with this camera. I find it easy to use and versatile as I expected it would be. The battery life has been good and re-charges have been acceptably fast. I like the size and heft though I expect that some would not. I've...

For the enthusiast

Date of Review:  Feb 24, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you're an enthusiast used to a quality SLR, you won't be happy with anything else. If you know Canon SLR's, the transition to the G3 is very comfortable!
Review: This was my first foray into digital photography, although I've been a photography enthusiast for years. In the film genre, my last two SLR's were a Canon A1 and a Canon Elan IIe. I've owned the Canon G3 for two months now and have been very pleased...

G-3 - A Great Prosumer Camera - Updated For Add-on Lenses

Date of Review:  Apr 29, 2003
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent camera with plenty of room to grow for any aspiring or "already there" photographer. It's one great product with plenty of punch for the buck.
Review: Overview
The G-3 is the latest in Canon's G-family of cameras, and like it's
predecessors is a prosumer camera, meaning that it is a mix of the basic functionality of a digital SLR while at the same time providing point-&-shoot...

Date of Review:  Dec 1, 2004
Review: I purchased the GP3 in July of 2003. I have used mainly for holidays and family pictures. I prefer my Canon Rebel EOS. After 16 months the LCD monitor burned up. Ridiculous,to say the least. Contacting Canon by email and phone resulted in two...

Wait until Canon fixes the autofocus. Blurry photos are no fun.

Date of Review:  May 18, 2003
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this camera. The autofocus system is broken.
Review: I've taken many thousands of photos with a variey of Powershot cameras and become quite an advocate for Canon's digital products. That said, the Powershot G3 can not focus. The camera is a joy to use, but the pictures are almost always blurry...
