Wow look what the Casio FX 115W Plus can do. This calculator is used in UIL Calculator Competitions. Preferred in our home over the HP 32SII RPN Scientific calculator.

This calculator has been used for pre-algebra and algebra. It's currently being used for algebra II, chemistry, and geometry. I'm willing to bet it will be used for calculus and statistics.

The Casio FX 115W Plus is very easy to use. You copy a problem straight onto the screen. You don't have to modify it or anything.

I have found that with other calculators you have to spell out the order of operations (step by step). With the Casio FX 115W Plus just enter the equation exactly as it appears and the calculator does the order of operations and gives the answer.

What's really great is the fact that both the equation and the answer appear on the screen at the same time. Which can really be an advantage in competition. It doesn't leave me wondering what problem I just entered.

Let's say that you need to do another operation that somehow you missed or the instructor is giving step by step. With the Casio FX 115W Plus you don't have to re-enter the answer that's on the screen just type the next operation and this calculator does the rest.

It's super for chemistry because it does unit conversions (both metric and standard).

If you're wondering about durability -- it's survived being dropped, kicked, sat on, smashed in a backpack, liquid disasters, and someone even got gum stuck between the buttons. My wonder calculator the Casio FX 115W Plus has been through it all and still works as well as the first day I got it. It also comes with a convenient hard cover that slips over the back while using the calculator, so no chance it will get lost. (unless you don't slip it over the back.)

The median price range and the Casio name are the original reasons I purchased Casio FX 115W Plus.

I have watched others purchase several different brands of calculators over the past few years because theirs can't measure up to the Casio FX 115W Plus.

Thanks to a truly wonderful Geometry instructor the ability of this calculator is finally coming to fruition. If you don't have a teacher with knowledge on this calculator read the instructions and you'll be a wiz in no time.

I will definitely purchase another Casio. Not that I expect to need one again in my life time, but I suppose something horrible could happen to mine. After all it hasn't been run over yet.
