Entertaining and Enlightening

What I like most about this magazine is that it offers a grab bag of spiritual reading. It has the inspirational first-person stories but they're not sappy like the ones you read in other religious magazines such as Guideposts, for example. There are "educational" articles, too, but they're not dry or preachy. A recent one, "What Matters About the Mass," for example, gave words to a lot of things I had been feeling for a long time. It also raised a lot of points that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. There's also a smattering of articles on saints and traditions, which is important to me because one of the reasons I remain Catholic is because of the rich tradition that the church has to offer. Finally, I enjoy the profiles and articles on contemporary affairs such as the story about the nuns in Minnesota who offer a safe haven for abused children.

This magazine makes me feel good about being Catholic. It's smart and entertaining, too, with little jokes strewn about. This magazine is a little pick me up with real information that stays with me throughout the month.
