Author's Review
This is our 5th Suburban. 2001 Chevrolet Suburban LS with 2nd row bench, and 3rd row, and a lift gate hatch, onstar, CD /tape player, Victory red with grey cloth, ABS, driver and passenger airbags along with side airbags. The 5.3L v8 boasts a lot of power, and the torque and horsepower are more superior than the Tahoe LS of the same year and engine option. Oddly, towing packages are not standard, but if you in the market for one, get one with the towing package, and save yourself a headache. These Suburban’s from 2000-2006 with 2nd row bench option, offered something phenomenal: flat fold seats (once 3rd row is removed), yep, completely flat, which allows for massive storage and hauling capabilities, roughly 4 feet wide, by 8 feet deep by 4 feet tall, that folks is a lot of space. Also, with all of the seats in place, it can seat 8 people comfortably (9 if the front seat is a bench, but that is only offered in a base model generally) 2 large dogs, a huge cooler, and the roof rack is where all of the luggage will go (luggage racks are standard). The comfort level, even for the LS regular model is outstanding. We drove this on long road trips, with very little driver and passenger fatigue. On the highway, there is a little windnoise, but something this large I suppose should have some noise hustling down a highway. We got a steal on this in 2008, it was a one owner with 70k miles for $7999 plus T T & L. Find yourself a nice one owner, with highway miles (that had no kids or animals). Also, from 2003-2006, they had more standard options that come in handy, keep that in mind.
