2003 Corvette Convertible

Pros: Great mileage combined with performance. Good looks.

Cons: Ticking engine noise, rattling transmission, clunky shifter and trunk lid not opening properly.

I thoroughly enjoy driving my '03 C5. It does have some very annoying GM anomalies. The engine has an incessant ticking noise. The 6 speed manual transmission has an embarrassing rattle. The shifter is clunky at best. The trunk has never opened properly. I have taken it to four different Chevrolet dealerships and was told unanimously that these were all "normal" characteristics of this car. I do not feel that a $50,000 plus vehicle should have a rattling transmission. The only thing the itty bitty cup holder is useful for is holding loose change.

I had one GM service tech tell me "that's the sound of power"!
