Great van for families!
Pros:
good gas mileage, seats seven, DVD player, bumper sensors, automatic sliding doors
Cons:
hard to fit into tight parking spots
The Bottom Line:
The Uplander has been the perfect choice for our family. Lots of room and features that make it perfect. I think it's a good choice for a vehicle.

Author's Review
Our family purchased a 2005 Chevy Uplander from a dealership in Texas. We absolutely fell in love with it the minute we test drove it!
Ours is what I call tan, but they called it pewter I believe. It has tan interior as well. Ours holds seven, has two front bucket seats, the middle seats are bucket seats and the back is a bench that's divided into two seats.
We have four kids in the family and have four car seats. One seat has the latch system (it's one of the middle bucket seats) and the other middle bucket seat has the built-in car seat.
The back seats will lay down (so will the middle seats, which also come out) and they will come out as well. It's great for hauling big things since the seats lay down or come out.
It does have the passenger airbag that will go off if the person sitting in the seat isn't a certain weight. I like this for the times my oldest has been required to sit there or I've had to carpool and have other children upfront.
Ours has features that some don't come with. We have the DVD player for those sitting in the back. You can use wireless headphones so all the people riding in the back can watch the movie and those sitting in the front can listen to the radio or CD player. (wireless headphones had to be purchased separately) Ours also has sensors in the bumper which tells you whether or not something is behind you or as you back up, if you come close to something. It's come in very handy for me!
One feature we love is the automatic sliding doors. With a press of a button, both doors can open. You can also lock the doors where those sitting in the back can't open them. I love being able to open the doors with a remote as well.
I love our van! We have driven over 30,000 miles in it since 2005 and have had no complaints. On the highway, we easily can put 500 miles on it before having to put gas in it again and in town, we usually get between 350-400 which I think is pretty good.
I say this is a good vehicle to have especially if you have a large family like us!
