Barbie Dream Car It is NOT
Pros:
great gas millage, fun to drive, roomy interior, appealing exterior design
Cons:
engine trouble, cheaply made
The Bottom Line:
I wouldn't recommend this car as someone's first new car but if you could get a reasonably priced used, one, it is easy on gas.

Author's Review
This was my first new car, I was really excited by its cute design, which lead to it being granted the nick name. . . the Barbie Dream Car, because of its cutesy-outer appearance. In reality it is like the Barbie Dream Car because it is cheap, made of plastic, and prone to breakage.
I had the car for less than six months when the trouble started. It was randomly dying at stop lights, or any time it had to idle for more than a few seconds. I took it to the dealer's garage who said it was 'a wire out of place'. That same 'wire' went out of place three more times before they decided to call GM technical support, who informed them my car had a defect in the engine valves, and all the valves had to be replaced.
Yet my dealer told me that replacing the valves on a NEW car was NOT rebuilding the engine. So I'm stuck with an essentially new car with a rebuilt engine. We tried to file a lemon report but to no progress.
Thankfully since the last fix there have been no major problems (aside from getting hit in the parking lot while I was at work, but I blame that on people not paying attention).
To the cars credit, it gets awesome gas millage, somewhere in the upper twenties to mid thirties on a good week. And with the small gas tank, you don't have to sell a kidney to fill up. It is also a fun drive, and easy to park in any tight space. Although it looks quite small from the outside, the car is very roomy and has served as a great long distance ride with my very tall friends.
