Product Review

GREAT LITTLE STROLLER FOR ALL AROUND TOWN

by   jerandali ,   Mar 22, 2008

Pros:  Lightweight, yet sturdy. Looks great. Great sunshade. Easy open/close.

Cons:  No cupholder. Plastic locking piece really tight.

The Bottom Line:  Great umbrella (lightweight, easily collapsible, travels well) stroller without too many frills. Great for intermittent sitting (a toddler who is active!) but sturdy enough to last through the years.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I just got this stroller and used it for the first time out of the house today - over lots of grass and dirt, pushing my 15 month old while following my almost 5 year old on an Easter Egg hunt. Although clearly heftier than our old umbrella stroller (the cheapy free Toys R Us kind), this stroller is still lightweight enough for me to lift with one hand and open. It felt extremely sturdy and I noticed how much more rugged the wheels are compared to the little umbrella stroller we had. The canopy is great (not flimsy but firm, stays in place, locks in the open position nicely) and the 5-point-harness is great for my little squirmer who would usually rather run in the opposite direction of where we're headed. In one of the reviews I read that the stroller was uncomfortable because of the angle of recline in the seat/back. I did notice this (my 15 month old's little feet don't touch the foot rest yet), but I didn't expect a world of comfort out of an umbrella stroller in the first place. It seemed well padded on back and bottom to me, so the slight angle of recline did not bother me too much - it just makes it a little more challenging for baby to get up and out on his own, which may be a good thing!) I can see how this would be a problem for a smaller child and not as comfortable because of this (petite child under 1 perhaps). I would have loved a cup holder and small basket/pocket near the handles, but the small mesh basket beneath worked well to hold miscellaneous toys and a light jacket today. Another minor con - the plastic locking piece is SO tight I cannot get the stroller to lock in place when closed (same for the canopy - had to have my husband put it on and he said it hurt his fingers to do so). Not a big problem since when folded I just put it in the back of our minivan., but if I had to carry the stroller around it would be a little inconvenient that it is so hard to lock (maybe the plastic is just too new still). Overall a great stroller for the price (hopefully will not have to buy another one).
