Clinique (blush) Why Thanks For Noticing!
Date of Review: Aug 20, 2000
Blush.
It's a very complicated makeup item. Why? Easy. When you're looking for one, you've got to find something that doesn't violate the following rules:
1) Doesn't make you look like your skin is burned
2) Doesn't make you look like you've been crying
3) Doesn't make you look like you're a performer for a circus
Just how can you accomplish this mission.
Your first step is to get over your pre-conceived notion that blush is meant to be red. Yes, you heard me. We women are not porcelain dolls that need bright red dots on our cheeks to be noticed.
Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher
So why in the world would a girl choose this product? Well yes, let's admit, I was already at the Clinique counter purchasing my foundation. A girl needs some blusher too! I'm not a fan of the cream types. Powders are much more my style.
Clinique's Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher comes in ten different colors.
Chestnut Blush
Fig
Nude Nude
Honey Blush
Rhubarb
Totally Tawny
Mocha Pink
Pink Blush
New Clover
Plum Gorgeous
I didn't know which color was right for me, so we tried a couple. The Chestnut color was absolutely perfect. It didn't make me violate any of those rules. As you can guess by the name, it's more a brownish tone. What?! Gasp?! It's not red and I don't dot it on my cheeks?! It's true! Because of my fair complexion, this color gives me a subtle, warm look.
Application of it was easy. The brush is very soft and moves naturally across your cheeks. The color doesn't seem to fade at all. I work very long days and the color remains in tact until I take it off late at night.
And one of the best things about it - it's not drying on my skin. My cheeks seem to be unnaturally dry and powders usually irritate them. Not this blusher.
