This Is One Bash I'm Not Gonna' Crash!

Date of Review: Dec 24, 2001

The Bottom Line:  This is a great game, if you're under 10 years old!
All these games coming out now that are supposed to be fun when you have your friends over. Yeah right. This game is far from fun. From games that seem the same to a batch of characters that aren't that special, Crash Bash has all the makings of a boring game, regardless of how many people are playing.

There are 3 different modes to play this game in. Adventure game (which sucks) where one or two players play through 28 arenas. You start by playing any 1 of 4 events. If you win a trophy, you can return for gem and crystal challenges. Winning will qualify you to challenge the big arena boss. If you win in adventure mode, you will be able to access other arenas in battle mode (which will be discussed in the next paragraph) and tournament mode (which will be discussed in the paragraph after that).

The second mode is as you know from the previous sentence, is battle mode. In this mode up to four players can battle in on arena. You can go head to head in vs. mode or you can team up in pairs. You're able to set the number of wins it takes in order to win the trophy.

The final mode is tournament mode. Up to four players can compete while winning points for each win. You can select the arena type and the number of wins for a trophy.

You are able to choose from 8 different characters. Those characters are Crash, Coco (Crash's sister), Tiny, Dingodile, Dr. Neo Cortex, N. Brio, Koala Kong, and Rilla Roo. Each character has their own special skills.

The entire game is basically just you (and your opponents) playing small games that get boring very quickly. There are games where you try to kill your opponents by throwing things at them and kicking them. There are ones where you try to collect as much fruit as possible. Small games like that which require little skill and therefore result in little fun.

If there is anything else you would like to know about this game, write what you want in the comment section and I'll do my best to answer it.
