This cordless, electric stainless steel kettle looks just like an old fashioned one you might have on your stovetop. The classic design and polished steel surface are very attractive sitting on your countertop or on your table if you are serving guests or family. I've had several other electric kettles and this is by far the best one I've owned. What I like about it is that it quickly brings the water to a boil, lets it boil for just a moment, and immediately shuts itself off. Every other one I've had lets the water boil for as long as 30 seconds, which is unnecessary and steams up the kitchen. It's got a great non-drip spout, a mesh filter, and a very secure removable lid. The handle folds for easier storage. I find that it's easier to handle than the more vertically-oriented kettles. As a hard-core tea drinker, I am very pleased with it! Although it's the standard 1.7 liter size, since it's more of a horizontal, squat design, it takes up a little more room on your counter. Cuisinart should make a small one for the occasional user.
