Super buy for the money.

Kohl's Department Store had the DLC-5 by Cuisinart on sale for $69.00. That is 50% off list price. While the machine is designed for 6 cups and may be small for larger families, for $69.00 I had to go for it. I am well satisfied with the machine. It will knead 3&1/2 cups of bread dough in 45 seconds flat and never break a sweat. The 600 watt motor is super strong and has a ten year warranty. If you can get buy with a smaller machine this is one you want. It will do anything the larger $250.00 machines will do and just as well but in smaller volume. The complaint voiced by others that the lid does not seal is valid. A small amount of flour does blow out. TIP: Stick your finger into a little Crisco, run it around the edge of the lid and it seals and stops the leak. Or spend $250.00 for a newer machine with a tighter fit! It is not made to process liquids, for that you want a blender, and as a result will leak if you use it as a blender. But for chopping, slicing, grinding and kneading of small to medium batches the DLC-5 is the cats meow.
