Author's Review
I recently purchased the D-Link WBR 1310 Access Point from eBay, and was astounded to see so many negative reviews about it. I also saw a very few of those reviews were five stars. This is because With this AP, you have to get the Right Revision. I have revision "D", which I purchased used. I think revision "A" is the one with problems. I am not sure about revision "B", but I think that one is okay.
The WBR 1310 uses a web-based setup much like other routers. It has a little bit different layout than most routers, but is the same for the most part.
Since I bought this unit used, I did not receive the stand for it (which would've helped, since the power cord on my unit only worked when bent at a ninety degree angle), an extra ethernet cable, or that handy little pamphlet that D-Link includes that you can write your admin panel password and wep/wpa key on (which could have been helpful as well). A piece of paper can always serve this purpose (if you buy it used or without one). If you buy this new, you also get a wall mounting kit to mount it on a wall.
Overall, it is a very handy unit. I have not experienced a single problem described in the reviews that had Defective revisions. An extra ethernet cord, the vertical stand, and even the mounting kit would've been useful had I bought it new or used and with those accessories.
So, if you plan to buy one of these on eBay, my advice is to look at the picture of the bottom of the unit (or request some) and make sure you get revision "D" (I think "B", with version 2 firmware might work also, but I don't know).
