Adding to the convenience of using our
Dell 5310n Dell Printer we ordered an additional 500-sheet drawer to go along with it. Though the printer itself comes with its own 500-sheet drawer built into the frame, purchasing the second drawer was a way to increase the duration between filling up one drawer, and to basically save time when printing larger jobs at the same time.
When purchased separately, the 5310n 500-sheet drawers sell for $229.99, but if you buy it along with the system the first time around, you can save a few dollars on the bottom line. This drawer is specifically and specially geared to only work with the 5310n, so the first thing to make sure you are doing is purchasing the correct drawer. Dell sells a similar version with the 5210, so read the fine print carefully when you are deciding whether to go with this added convenience. It can be ordered online from this site, using the link directly below the review if you deem it something that could prove useful for your printer.
The drawer is of course intended to solely improve the productivity of your printer. It holds up to 500 sheets of 8x11 paper, and is used in coordination with the primary tray installed in the Dell 5310n printer. It doesnt look like much out of the box, but on the top sides of the tray are many sensors that coordinate action with the printer once installed. To set up the extra tray, you simply take the original printer, and place it on top of the tray, making sure to match up the edges so that you have a smooth surface going around the entire printer. The tray should open to the front of the printer, right below where the primary tray is refilled. It is easy to set up, but be careful lifting the system, because this is a heavy office tool.
When the physical components are set up, you simply load up a print screen, and adjust the preferences to show that there will now be two accessible trays for the printer. You have now increased your potential output at one time from 500 up to 1000 pages. This tray is really easy to set up if you follow the instructions, and it takes basically no time at all to get everything running at peak performance level. The tray may seem a little expensive, but when you are working with multiple prints of vast document sizes, you want to be able to work with a higher number of potential printed pages. The additional tray has worked perfectly for us up to this point, and I see no reason why it wont continue to perform well in the near future. This is a highly recommended printer accessory, and one that I recommend for anyone purchasing the Dell 5310n.
