Sonic bliss...they flat-out rock
Date of Review: May 19, 2000
If I can say one thing to anyone who's complained about the sound the get from their CD players, MD players or MP3 players, it is GET BETTER HEADPHONES! I realized that I needed to do better than the cheap, plastic, tinny swoops that came with my Aiwa.
I will swear to you right know, that these are the greatest headphones I have ever had the pleasure of putting on my ears. It is the opinion of most, that the player has everything to do with the sound. Not true. Of course, a $200 cd player is going to beat a $50 one every time, but the difference is minimal compared to the advantage of truly killer headphones.
I was hanging out with some friends, and one of them was listening to a loud Nine Inch Nails song, and pressing his terrible headphones to his ears, the volume turned all the way up. I lent him these, and he was totally shocked by the difference. Louder, heavier, more bass, truer tones and improved sound with any player.
It is such a sad fact that people dismiss players because they don't like the sound, when the Denon headphones would make all the difference. The only problem is the massive size. They are truly huge. But it's not a big deal, compared to the advantage of such awesome digital sound. The bottom line is everyone should have sound like this.
