This is not a great car seat

I would not recommend buying this car seat. The base is easy to install (two different installation options), but it can be difficult to snap the car seat onto it. Also, I have tried this in four different cars, and in all four vehicles, it was too "slanted". I felt like my son was ready to "lift off"!!!! Of course, this can be easily remedied with a rolled up towel under the base, but I don't think that should be necessary! Also, the canopy has very little support, so it does not stay where you place it. I consistently have to reach behind me to adjust it and keep the sun out of my child's face. The harness that snaps over their chest has a flimsy/soft plastic latch. It wears very quickly with use, and I do not feel like it would hold in an accident (there's a reason there are reviews of that replacement part on this very site). Conversely, the lower latch is very, very rigid. It can be quite difficult to snap-in and snap-out. My mother and grandmother have a very hard time getting my son strapped in for this reason. However, the worst part is that he outgrew it at 4 months (16 lbs.)- even with the cumbersome monthly adjustments! The manufacturer rates it as being "usable" for much longer. The cushions/fabric are removable and washable. However, the restraint straps need to be removed, not making this a very easy task. This car seat is compatible with the infant headrests as well. It is very lightweight, and easier than most to tote around. The base that it works with is not expensive ($10-$15) and easy to find. I would still not recommend purchasing this car seat.
