Uniden DCT756 Quad Cordless Phone
Date of Review: Jan 14, 2007
The Bottom Line: Excellent phone system at a reasonable price
My sister just moved into a new apartment. The apartment only had one phone jack and rather then spend money on putting more jacks in I suggested she get the Uniden DCT756 Quad Cordless Phone. You only need one phone jack for this model. The Uniden DCT756 was only $79.99 at Staples. Cheaper than adding jacks and since this was a rental the phone can go with her while the jacks cannot. The phone has a four handset system with bright orange light up screen and buttons. She has two bedrooms and a living room that needed phones and she keeps the main base in the kitchen, it worked out perfectly.
The Uniden charged up quickly and was very simple to assemble. We didn't even need the instructions. Put battery in, plug in bases was basically what we had to do
The Uniden Quad has 2.4 Digital, has speaker phone on the hand sets, you can adjust for personalized ringers and it has a visual ring indicator. The phones themselves are a really nice silver with a bit of black and a black antennae I know this isn't of great significance but its something we felt was noteworthy. The phone is nice and sleek.
Uniden DCT756 Quad offers ring tone selection. It offers offers Beethoven's 9th, Fur Elise, Merry Xmas, Home Sweet Home and many more. Don't you just love that? You can have a ringtone for each special person you know. Cute, right?
You can select a language, set the time and day, it offers caller ID on call waiting and caller ID deluxe. You can set up voice mail with a signaling tone as well. You can program one touch voice mail access. Caller ID will show up on your screen letting you know who is calling through.
You can always add extra handsets as they are compatible.
You can program in an address book and speed dial (on the DCT17565 only). You can delete speed dial numbers you no longer use. As many as 100 caller ID numbers or phone book entries can be stored in your redial or phonebook. The options on this phone just go on a and on.
Of course, volume on the ringer, handset earpiece and base speaker are all adjustable. All these can also be muted. There are 20 ringer options.
You can conference call or answer a transferred call. If you pick up your call on one unit and you need someone in the other room you can let the other party know the call is coming in for them by dialing their particular handset.
Believe it or not you can even use this set as a baby monitor. You just place the handset in the room to be monitored and it will function as a microphone while your other set will be the remote speaker allowing you to monitor sounds. Just press menu/clear and enter to room monitor menu. Select the station you want to use to monitor, press select. Room monitor will appear and you will hear sounds. Pretty amazing right?
If you change something on the main unit it automatically programs the other units for you.
This is an Energy Star energy efficient item. They offer a customer Hotline at Uniden. If you are disabled they offer a special number. If you're problem occurs after hours you can leave a call back number.
We are so impressed with the Uniden DCT-756 we highly recommend it.
