Olympus's Latest Entry Into The Pro-sumer SLR Sub $1000 Category

Date of Review:  Jan 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: Only if you have the cash, this is a great entry into the SLR market.
Review: ***** UPDATED AS OF 1/11/05 ****** Scroll to bottom for update!

Fresh out of the gates this holiday season was the Olympus E-Volt E300 digital SLR camera. Capitalizing on Olympus' interchangable digital Zukio lens system, this 8.1...

Excellence at half the price!!!!

Date of Review:  May 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: E300 is everything you need. Great color, brightness and high quality. It doesn't sound possibly but there wasn't much to pick apart especially when you don't break the bank.
Review: To begin with there is no real benefit for using 35mm equipment lenses because they are not made for the digital SLR ccd. This means that you aren't getting most of the picture you see with 35mm lenses for most of the camera makers. Canon is the...

A truly great prosumer camera.

Date of Review:  Nov 9, 2005
The Bottom Line: I can't see why a non-professional photographer would spend all that money on competing models when you get all you need in this one.
Review: I read literally every review written before I bought this camera. I wanted more than my old Camedia 3.0 could provide, but I set a maximum budget of $800, which ruled out a lot of the more powerful Nikons and Canons.

First, if you're...

Color, class and quality!

Date of Review:  Dec 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera if you want to expand your horizons and learn a lot! It's fun to use, and it can be a great way to explore your creative side.
Review: I have had this camera since March 05. I was waiting to write a review until I had thoroughly explored this system. That being said, here are my thoughts from the last several months of using this camera.

Although the camera itself looks...

If you can find one new or used, BUY IT

Date of Review:  Jul 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera for the Kodak sensor and then learn how to get the maximum out of it. For pros or advanced amateurs on a budget.
Review: Here are the reasons why:

1. This camera (along with the Evolt E-500) has a very high end Kodak sensor that you only get in very expensive cameras. (Newer Olympus SLRs have Panasonic sensors). It is very obvious you have something special...

Olympus Evolt! What a camera!

Date of Review:  Mar 25, 2005
The Bottom Line: Bottom line is this camera is Fool-proof for a beginner, or solid enough for a professional. Picture quality is fantastic. Price for camera and the 14-54mm lens makes it affordable.
Review: The Olympus Evolt E-300 is Olympus' latest entry into the digital SLR category. To sum it up, its a wonderful camera! OK so you want a few more details.

Let me start by saying I upgraded from the Olympus E-10 to the E-300. I have been an...

Great camera the best in image quality

Date of Review:  Jan 10, 2005
Review: I work in a camera store in calgary and i get to test them out .
This camera is not really for the pro's but it crushes all in image quality.
Why is this, the lens is better built to work with the ccd.
The ccd is better then most...

Excellent Camera, Excellent Pictures

Date of Review:  Nov 10, 2005
The Bottom Line: I would honestly recommend this camera to anyone who wants more than point and shoot camera.
Review: I was looking for replacement of my Sony F717, which after 2 years of great service gave up.
So I started looking for something which would last longer than that. This time I spent 2 weeks just reading reviews. The one which convinced me is...

Little bit of this, little bit of that

Date of Review:  Dec 3, 2005
Review: I work as a photo/journalist and I needed a camera which was sturdy and gave me excellent edge to edge sharpness.
The E 300 certainly does this beyond anything I've seen (and I've used Nikons and Canons in the digital era).
The choice of...

A joy to use

Date of Review:  Mar 20, 2005
Review: Have now owned it for 3 months and taken several thousand pictures out doors in adverse winter conditions. Absolutely gorgious pictures. Good handling, well built, easy to use. Lenses are fine quality and well built.
