Author's Review
I was pretty psyched getting ready to play ECW Hardcore Revolution. I watch ECW regularly and I think it is a really great federation and alot different from the other federations out there. It has great talent and brutal wrestling, so any game like this I would assume to blow away the competition.
Well, I was wrong. I'm sure this game has some good qualities. It's really fun to play some characters because this is the first ECW game created. The idea behind this game was new because all the other WWF games were the same, as Stone Cold would be in each game. But this is the first time you can see the Sandman in a video game. That's why this was impressive and actually some fun. I must also bring out the great graphics this game has. It's as good as the commercials show, even better perhaps. I think what most people who play this game will be extremely happy about the bloodiness of the game and how realistically it is shown.
But unfortunantly, the cons overcome the pros. Only because there aren't many pros. The gameplay is pretty bad. They may seem okay to do, but when you try, it's almost impossible to pull off. And the special moves are the same way. And the special moves are the moves that everyone loves to see. Personally, while playing, I thought the dreamcast was possessed. It seemed like I had not won a single match and that it was impossible to beat. It was like the game had it in for me. Apparently, every offensive move they had hit me and it was always able to defend my moves. To me, it's just not fun consistently losing to a computer. Besides the graphics, there isn't much to this game which distinguishes the game from others or makes it above the rest.
I'm not against this game, but just not for it. It may be worth a look in order to play these virtually unknown characters, but you won't be getting anything new or original from this game.
