Open for Brilliance!
Pros:
New business option gives game a whole new challenge, new neighbourhood, more clothes and items.
Cons:
Business over-runs the whole family idea.
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this to anyone who loves The Sims. However, it should be aimed at an older audience than the The Sims 2 because it requires a lot of thinking.

Author's Review
As an addicted simmer, I was very involved in the whole excitement to the release of Open for Business. I read all the info, saw all the screen shots and watched all the taster videos and was excited... and when I finally got the game it was just how the info had described - but unfortunately nothing more. It just lacked a little extra, and there where no hidden things that I normally expect.
The main business option gives an entire new prospect to the game, and actually gives a challenge with rewarding goals. I am still in awe that you can literally make any type of business you want; you can sell practically everything in the buy catalogue, selling things from showers and sinks, to birthday cakes and balloons!
I also liked the fact that if you have the expansion pack, The Sims 2 Nightlife, you can sell cars.
There where some pleasing new items, with the game including elevators, cones roofs, and more. I was however disappointed that the creators only concentrated on two new themes, pink decorative fantasy, and modern doors and windows.
One major downside to this game, is that is you decide to start a business be very well prepared! The business them may seem enticing but it takes away the whole prospect of having a family. So a warning to you all - if you start a business it takes up ALL of your Sims time!
