Beware of this Camcorder

I've owned this camcorder for 2 and a half years and I've had numerous problems with it. Thank goodness I got an extended warranty. The most problematic issue it that the camcorder gets stuck in telephoto mode, and the zoom stays engaged. I have to constantly push the zoom button towards wide angle. I had to send it back for repair about a year ago. The same problem just returned again-unfortunately less than a week before leaving for Disney so I'm out of luck for getting it repaired in time. No video on this vacation.

Also a problem with the backup battery holder not staying in.

One other comment- the date display function is cumbersome. A previous Canon camcorder I owned allowed you to display or hide date/time with one button while recording. This camera requires you to go through several steps through the menu to do the same.

Too many dumb problems that have unfortunately left me stranded without a camcorder when I really wanted one. Very disappointed with this camera.
