A True Killer

Jami was an innocent girl with so much to offer the world. She had great grades, could have gotten into any college she wanted, and could have had any man she wanted. All of this rang true until she got involved with Steve. Steve Sherer was a man with a lot of problems. He didn't have a good relationship with his father, who mysteriously died of a "self-inflicted" gun shot wound, and had a history of abusive relationships, where he was the abuser.
When Jami met Steve he seemed nice. Her parents were a little weary, but they knew that she was smart and could make responsible decisions on her own. She got pregnant and then got married to Steve after an already countless amount of beatings and verbal abuse. They knew she was in trouble but they didn't know what to do.
Jami got a great job with Microsoft and had stocks that could get her rich by retirement. She also started to see how Steve's abuse was controlling her life and thought that there might be better for her out there. That is when she started hanging out with Steve's friend Lew. Lew Adams was a drug abuser just like Steve, but he would never hurt a woman. They started to get to know eachother and decided that one weekend they would spend time together. That was when she also decided she was going to leave Steve.
Jami told her parents that she was going to leave him and would be over to their house in no time, but she never showed up. Did Steve do it? Many people were pretty sure he did.
This book very nicely details the process of an innocent woman being overpowered by an abusive man and losing her dignity. It talks of a woman who realized she was in trouble when it was too late and when she wanted to get out, her life ended in tragedy. Will the case ever be solved? I know that it can almost be solved through this book. In the end you will know the truth.
