Fellowes Powershred SB-97CS Shredder

We purchased this shredder to replace a 7 year old shredder that was on its last leg. This shredder is much quieter than others we tested in the stores. We still do not shred when someone is on the phone nearby, but overall it is fairly quiet. The option for cd and credit card shredding is a nice feature to have even if it is not used frequently. The safety features of this Fellows Powershred are very nice. I am not sure that it is actually possible to injure your self with this shredder, the SafeSense technology really is safe. The shredder has a 10 gallon removable waste basket, making shredding papers very neat. The shredder comes with a few trash bags, which is a nice start and the waste basket removal is smooth. Paperclips and staples are no problem in the shredder. Continuous shredding is no problem for this model, however it does tend to heat up after around ten passes but it takes only a few minutes for the shredder to cool down. The appearance is very professional and sleek. The casters are not necessary for our use but are a nice feature. The confetti cut 5/32” x 1½” is a little larger than other options and is the only drawback to this machine.
