Not so great........

I just bought this shredder from Office Depot. I am using it to replace my ShredMate, also from Fellowes. This shredder is quiet and claims to have the capacity (for shredded material) I am looking for.

However, the motor does not run very well. I put one single credit card in it (which the directions indicate is acceptable) and it almost jammed. The shredder barely accepted six sheets of paper, while the owner's manual states the capacity is six sheets of paper. I was shredding some old checks, not even full sheets of paper, and the shredder really bogged down. I then attempted to shred a plastic health insurance card, and the shredder jammed totally. This card was not nearly as thick as a credit card, as it was more like laminated paper. Up until now, I have been pleased with the Fellowes line of shredders. This is my first poor experience with Fellowes.

I took this back to Office Depot and got a bigger model shredder, we'll see what happens from there. I highly prefer my smaller ShredMate to this larger model. I still have the old ShredMate (see my epinion “Shreddinator”) which runs much better than this model.
