Comfy seat for a young baby!

Intro:
This papasan was a present at a baby shower that was given for us when our baby was a month old. At the time the present was a God-send. My husband and I were looking for a SAFE place to set down the baby so that we could do simple things like "use the bathroom", or even have a break from holding the baby without having to put him on the floor or in the pack n play. We definitely were excited about trying this present out.

The design:
The Papasan has a fairly easy set up. There are two bases (the front legs and back legs) and a metal tube that hooks the bases together. Then there is a seat pad that goes over the top of it with an infant support pad that goes on top of that. There is also a toy bar that contains a mirror and an attachment for a toy bunny that is included. I may make this sound more complicated than it is. Typically I am not the one in our house that puts things together (my husband is great at all of that), but I found that even I can put this together. (I got many a chance to because of the washings the pads needed to go through due to spit-ups.) Speaking of washings... the pads were easy to take off and wash in a washing machine on a gentle cycle (only air drying though!)

The seat itself has a 3 point harness system, which always kept our son secure. The papasan also requires 3 C batteries to run the music/vibrations. (The music and vibrations can be ran separately or together). Also the legs/bases can fold down easily for travel or for storage.

What we loved about this:
My son absolutely loved his papasan. It was very rare that he ever fussed. He enjoyed sitting in it and being near my husband and I or playing with some toys. He also enjoyed napping in it and appeared to sleep pretty soundly. The music was O.K., but whenever it was on it appeared to calm him. The vibrations sometimes worked well with him too. My son also enjoyed the hanging bunny and would play with it attached or not. The mirror was great too. The first time he noticed himself in it he laughed. We often found him staring at it.

Our only big disappointment...
Unfortunately since our baby was so tall he outgrew the papasan quickly (well before the 25lb weight limit). He would kick his legs all the time and his ankles were around where the controls are for the music and vibrations. So, he started to get big bruises from kicking his legs/ankles on it all of the time. So about 3 months after we got it we had to store it away.

Other minor disappointments...
This would include no volume control on the music and the sound quality/selection of the music.

Overall:
I would still recommend this product highly! If you have a shorter baby you will get to use this longer than we did, but all in all this is a great product!
