Author's Review
I'm not going to write a high-tech review, because I don't know enough about cars to do so.
I purchased my 2002 Ford Escape at Fred Beans Ford in PA. For those of you who don't know this dealership, they are tops in customer satisfaction, and make a major purchase relatively painless...what more could you ask for? As fate would have it, they had my EXACT specs on the lot: Black & Grey exterior, graphite cloth interior, 6-CD changer, V6 engine, tint on the rear windows (no front window or driver/passenger tint)... all for under 24 grand. Ok...I had an "in"; my family's bought no less than six cars from this dealer.
The Escape drives like a dream. Tons of pickup, excellent headlight position, roomy front seat (I'm over 6 feet tall), and you don't have to jump up into it.(bad back!) I also purchased a paint package that, so help me, has kept this thing gleaming for more than a year.
Pound for pound, it's my Epinion (groan) that this is the best suv of its class. So there.
