The last Episode...

As every movie franchise ends, the ´Friday´-series ends right here (atleast we think so...) Finally Craig (Ice Cube) finds himself back in the hood again. He lives in an apartment together with cousin Day Day (Mike Epps). The whole story is set during Christmas. On Christmas eve -Craig and Day Day are sleeping- (probably loaded and stoned), when they get robbed by some guy dressed as Santa himself. All their rentmoney get´s stolen; Craig is fckd again. They both take ´forced´ jobs as security guards in a shopping mall, were their fathers Mr. Jones (John Witherspoon) and Unc Elroy (Don DC curry) started a BBQ restaurant. If they don´t have the rentmoney by the end of the day, appartment owner mrs. Drake (Mrs. Pearly) will send her son Damon (looks like Deebo) -who just got out of prison, and likes to fck around with guys- to collect it... Now Damon is not the kind of guy you´d mess around with..!

Again a hilarious story, again an interesting and original setting. I must say writer Ice Cube goes ballistic on this one! He moves the whole ´Friday´ franchise to a Christmas atmosphere, which already makes it a cheer to watch. Mike Epps is also back as Day Day, Craig´s crazy cousin. Old and beloved characters such as Mr. Jones, Unc Elroy, Craig´s mother, even Pinky return for this 3d installement. As usual there are also a bunch of new characters introduced including earlier mentioned Damon. Damon is basicly the next level of Craig´s former nemesis Deebo. A big black guy, just released from jail..
Another very cool new character is Money Mike (katt Williams), a real P.I.M.P., who´s also got some very funny lines and moments in this film. One of my favorite characters was Moly (Maz Jobrani), the owner of a donutstore, located at the shoppingmall. Him saying the word ´buddie´ all the time was great fun.

As usually in the Friday films, there´s a sexy girl in this one. In the first Friday it was Debbie (Nia Long), in ´Next Friday´ is was the sexy Hispanic Karla (Lisa Rodriquez), and now it´s Donna (K.D. Aubert). I liked the part close to the end, where Craig is in his bedroom with Donna and get´s disturbed by annoying cousin Day Day. He says; ´I never get some pssy´ (In the last two films he never got the girl, cauz´ of something stupid..).

So, is this finale to the ´Friday´ series a recommendable one? Well despite all the negative reviews I read (!?), I still had a damn good time with Ice Cube and his crew. In fact this last part to the trilogy is extremely funny..! It´s a little on the short side dough (one hour 15 minutes), but it has a lot of energy (especially for a last part) and the ´Friday´ formula doesn´t feel weak or bored. I just had a great time! And actually I feel pretty sad because the ´Friday´ franchise ends here...
I hope they make another movie someday, or why doesn´t Ice Cube write a tv-series with all these characters; I mean if you´ve written all this, there are endless funny situations you could put these characters into.

I recommend ´Friday after Next´! I must say dough that a lot of the jokes made are insider jokes, so if you fully want to enjoy it, check out ´Friday´ and ´Next Friday´ first. Lovely films, with a good hearted nature...!
