Author's Review
I was really excited to see this movie because after all, all the other Friday movies were funny. This movie's setting is back in their old neighborhood, so some of the characters from Next Friday and the original Friday are back. Craig (Ice Cube), John Witherspoon (Mr. Jones), Anna Maria Horsford (Mrs. Jones), Mike Epps (Day-Day), Don "D.C." Curry (Uncle Elroy) and Clifton Powell (Pinky). It also stars new characters, comedian Sommore (Elroy's *NEW* Girlfriend), BeBe Drake (Landlord), Katt Williams (Money Mike), Santa Claus (Ricky Smiley) and Emilio Riveria (Larry) . Craig and Day-Day, having finally moved out their parent's houses, work as mall security guards. After being robbed by Santa Claus they have no rent money. The same day of their robbery their new landlord threatens them that if they don't pay her that night, she will send her recently released (from prison) homosexual son Damion after them. Throughout the film they repeatedly spot the Santa and are even robbed by him again. Of course there were other things going on with Money Mike and his girlfriend, his landlady and his father, his uncle and his father, the police officers, but that was the main plot. The script was so full of cursing it wasn't as funny as it could have been, some words were just unnecessary. It cannot even compare to the original Friday or even the Next Friday as far as comedy. It was humorous in certain places but it did not have me laughing the entire time. The story is similar to the other stories as well, they get themselves in some trouble which is practically impossible to get out of and in the midst of all the mess there is one female that they all want. I expected more comedy (especially with Cube and Epps teamed together) and a change in the script a bit. It was hilarious in the first film, funny in the second but a little too predictable in the third. I lost interest very quickly in the storyline basically until the end of the movie. The movie ended pretty well but I will never see it again unless it's on cable.
