Poor, large capacity but mold and mildew and smell

I have had this machine, for over 1 year, was highly recommended by Leon's sales rep for least complaints. We have found that you need to leave the door open after ever wash, dry the rubber gasket and still their is mold and mildew within the gasket, under it and a mold smell coming from the machine. It is also cracked in the drawer for adding detergent, right up into the top of the console. With the extended warranty Leon's said their is nothing they can do about the smell and that they can send a repair person but we would be charged if it wasn't a faulty product which the person on the phone felt it wasn't. I also called fridgidaire and they told me to buy powder dishwasher detergent and bleach to run through a hot cycle once a week, this is not in the care manual, as well as not cost effective, as I am doing 52 empty loads a year using hot water! I have read these problems on other sites as well.
