Getting what you pay for is true here-this range is terrible!

When I purchased my condo it came fully applianced. Just from looking at the range that was there, Frigidaire FGF316, it was clear that this was a cheap model-there was no clock,timer or even a PREHEAT light! The oven door was light and seemed very flimsy. I figured that I should at least give it a try before knocking it. The control knobs for the burners do not even have notches in them and are not marked for any settings other than "light", "high" & "low". It is SO hard to determine what temperature you are cooking with since there is barely any variation with the know between high & low. Sometimes when I am trying to keep something warm the burner just goes off since I am too close to the low setting...I spend the entire time cooking bending down to look at the flame to determine the temp I am cooking with since the knobs are not any help. Cleaning this is also a problem-there is a hole around the burner that crumbs fall into. The oven was not any better. There is no preheat light to tell you when the oven is up to temp. The knob for the oven is just as lousy as the burner ones-there are no notches to set the temperature so it is unclear if the oven is heating to an accurate temperature. It also does not have a SELF CLEANING setting.
I am now in the market for a new range that has features I once considered standard. For a few hundred dollars more a lot of frustration can be avoided by purchasing something else!
