I love my Frigidaire side-by-side!

As a New Orleans resident, I decided to toss out my 20-year old fridge after it sat with rotting food in it for a month after Hurricane Katrina. The fridges at all of the appliance stores were literally being purchased as they were unloaded from the delivery trucks. This was the only fridge I had an option to purchase at Lowes, so I wasted no time and bought it immediately. After having this fridge for over two years now, I'm so happy it happened to be the one I got.

The temperature settings never require adjusting, but if needed, they are conveniently located at the top of the fridge side in the very front. There's no difficult reaching to the back and knocking everything over. The water filter is also very easy to change. I also love the removable shelves! They simply click in place and are so easy to remove for cleaning. The crisper and "fresh-lock-hydrator" are excellent for storing meats and vegetables.

The freezer also utilizes space very nicely. The ice maker holds enough ice for me to have a party of 25 people and still have ice left over when everyone leaves. There are two settings for the ice: crushed or cubed. I find the crushed ice to be more chopped than completely crushed and you need to cup your hands around the glass when using this setting to avoid it blasting out on to the floor. However, I've had friends report the same issue with other brands of freezers doing the same thing with the crushed ice setting.

I really do love this fridge, but I find it's very difficult to clean the stainless steel front without streaks showing. I've bought special cleansers, and nothing seems to easily clean it. I guess that's just how stainless steel is. It also scratches easily where my fingernails and rings lightly brush it near the handle, but it's not very noticeable.
