When this camera first came out about 2 years ago now, I purchased it. It has been on main digital camera even after purchasing another 12 megapixel camera also.
It's compact, quick and easy to keep in your purse so that you'll always have it on you at all times. It does take amazing photos, and even my 12 mp camera doesn't take as good photos than this one.
It has InfaRed technology so it can communicate with other IR capable cameras.
It's a pretty simple camera, you can crop photos and do simplistic edits on the actual camera prior to transfering to the computer. When you do transfer the photos to the computer, they're of a reasonable size and don't take forever to transfer like the 1 mb photos from my 12mp.
It is easy to use for beginners and children, but an experienced photographer could take really great photos with this camera also.
Watch out for the LCD cover screen though, mine broke on me in my purse. If I had it in a case, perhaps it would have been more shielded, but for 2 years of having it unprotected in my purse, it's been a trooper and hasn't had any damage but the cover screen; which was easily fixed.
Lastly, one downfall is that it only allows for the XD card to be in the memory slot. Fuji makes their money this way, because XD is specific to their brand, and is pretty pricey for a memory card! (Mine cost $30)
ALL IN ALL! GREAT CAMERA!!! YOU SHOULD GET ONE FOR ALL THOSE UNEXPECTED TIMES YOU JUST NEED ONE!
