Very blurry photos

I purchased this camera when my friend and I's daughters were going to the pool for the first time. With a name brand I thought that it would be fairly good even though we didn't have a flash. The camera was good at the pool, it was very waterproof and I really liked that it floats! I found that my friends daughter easily got the carry strap off, which didn't float. I liked that it had more than 12 exposures and that the view finder was accurate. Unfortunately, when we got the photos developed we were very disappointed. The photos were very dark and grainy. Out of the 27 pictures that we got, 2 or 3 turned out, none good enough to frame. The pictures were so bad we weren't even sure that some of the photos were ours because they were so granulated and so so dark. It could be easily improved by adding a flash and perhaps some higher quality film. I wish I had have gotten a better camera for the first time swimming. I also found that you really had to push hard on the button to take the picture. Also, the shutter sound when you press the button is very quiet so without winding the film you really don't know if the picture you wanted to take was taken.
